Girl Guides, Storms and Teddy Bears

So - today is 20 years on from the "Great Storm" of 1987. Anyone else remember it? Having become rather old on Sunday, I am certain that I am the oldest person here.

Anyway - in memory of the great storm - what were you doing? I was at a guide camp. Hey - that's enough of that - there's nothing wrong with having been a girl guide. But my lasting memory of the great storm is the marquee around which we were all camped, uping and blowing away. And my little girl guide friend crying her eyes out and screaming in her most squeaky, shrieky voice "Where's my teddy bear, my teddy bear", whilst throwing other little girl guide suitcases around in a deranged manner.
