Hot Water is Overrated Anyway. Right?

So, on Friday 13th July, Husband Features and I (with indispensible help from my brother in law), moved into our new flat, with me, obviously, convinced that the only way for things to go was drastically wrong, it being Friday 13th and all. However everything seemed to go in successfully and our first night in the new flat went without a hitch.

It was Saturday 14th before things went a little awry, as we discovered that neither the immersion tank, nor the boiler were working.  Nor, after a consultation with a professional (McFriend, who was visiting, and who's ex was a plumber) would they work.

The 2k required for a new boiler was not in the plan - however after a week of cold showers, it became clear that cold showers could not really be in the plan long term either.  So we have had the immersion tank fixed and therefore have hot water for a limited period of time and at great expense, but it has made a big difference and cost a fraction of the 2k the boiler would have cost.

We will address the boiler issue when the weather gets a bit colder and we need heating - but for the time being, we are going to focus on sorting ourselves out  kitchen.
