The Case of the Evil Estate Agents

Ok, so please bear with me - this is my first post since blogger has changed - which could have happened years ago - in which time, I have become an old lady who no longer knows how to use a computer.

Anyway, more excitingly, Husband Features and I have gone and bought outselves a little ole flat!  We have moved ourselves off the Tube, which probably puts us in the suburbs...

Anyway, the flat needs a bit of love, and doing up a flat is something I have no experience of whatsoever - so I thought I'd keep you updated here of the journey we'll go through - from living in a flat that has been rented out for 15 years to people who don't care about it, to living in a flat that we love.

Our starting point was a snowy march day that followed a month of looking at flats that were not quite right.  We met the estate agent at the front of the block of flats, went in to have a look and decided it was the one for us.

Things went downhill from there.  We had a particularly unpleasant estate agent however who made a lot of threats and several times took it upon himself to make up false deadlines, but finally, at 4.45pm on Friday 6 July, we got the keys.  We could barely believe it and after so many downs in the process, we dared not arrange a van for moving until we had the keys in our grubbly little hands.

A week later, we'd cleaned the carpets twice (to very little avail) and moved all our stuff in.

So, will add more detail as I go along, but for now, below are some pictures of what we're working with.

We have made quite a few changes since these pictures, so the next post will have some of those updates.
